May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.Psalm 19:14
Lord, in our marriages may we not be careless with our words, for to be careless with words is to be careless with each other’s hearts. May the words we speak truly reflect the goodness which you have created in us. Help us not to speak unkindly, unthinkingly and unadvisedly to the ones we love best – especially when we are tired and feeling stressed. May we never take one another for granted.
