Day #24
As God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
Colossians 3:12-13
Lord, may we truly embrace who we are in Christ – representatives of the new humanity, made holy and deeply loved by God. Now, starting here in our marriages, may we know what it is to put aside the old look we once wore and take on a new identity – wearing with confidence the kingdom uniform of kindness and compassion, humility, meekness and patience. Instead of complaining and seeing the negative in every situation, may we put all our trust in you, the forgiving God. May we be the first to forgive each other – and ourselves – so that, free from everything of the past which might seek to drag us backwards, we can look ahead together with joyful hope.
