This is the message you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another… let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.
1 John 3:11,18
Father, we pray for marriages, that they be made strong in your love. May marriage be the matrix in which we learn to live the reality of selfless love with those for whom we have the greatest affection (even if they can also annoy and infuriate us the most). May husbands and wives learn to speak fluently each other’s ‘languages of love’; and may this love, which we nurture together, flow out to nourish a love-hungry world.
